Combined Team Scores

"After hours of rainfall leading up to the meet, and portions of the course caught in very windy conditions all throughout the day, Sunfair still had some exceptional performances and all-time marks on the challenging 3 mile layout...."

Preview

In Sunfair's flighted scoring structure, deep teams hold a significant advantage compared to traditional scoring. This year, the teams going into the meet that look to use that to their advantage most are Eisenhower boys, Eastlake girls and both Gig Harbor squads. But beyond the unique scoring structure, the meet is fantastic at highlighting both strengths and weaknesses throughout the lineup of teams daring to test their abilities at Sunfair. And it also happens to showcase great individual battles, where only the top runner from each team gets to battle it out for their school... but only after their teammates get the same chance in their race!

Meet Scoring
All seven Varsity Flights will be scored by place. The team accumulating the lowest number of points for all seven flights will be declared the winner. Ties will be broken by the finish of the runner in Flight 7. Teams that do not have seven varsity runners complete the course will be assigned the last place score for any one or more flights. Schools must have five varsity runners complete the course in order to be considered for team scoring. Only one boy and girl runner from each team will be scored in each of the varsity flights. There will be no team scoring for non-varsity races.
